Another Day of Orientation...yippee!

This morning after breakfast we headed to the Youth Center to go over paperwork and sign over keys, a cell phone, learn the fire route, etc. It wasn't the most exciting...in fact there are many things that I would rather be doing than that, but the POC's at the center are really lively and fun, joking at just about every opportunity possible.
We went on a guided tour of the base, which was great, so we could see where everything was on base. We had lunch at the hotel, with chicken curry as the main dish! It was absolutely delicious, and I think there were quite a few people that agreed because we had to wait in line forever to get our food!
In the afternoon, we worked in the arts and crafts room, organizing the supplies in the closets and cupboards so that we could find things more easily during camp and also know what we had! We moved some things, like markers, crayons, rulers, colouring pencils, colouring pages, etc. so that the campers will be able to access the materials. (Notice the spelling? I was told after labeling the drawers this way that I had used the 'proper' English).
Supper was good as well, but not near as good as lunch. Dessert was banana bread drizzled with custard...well drizzled is not a good word...more like dripping. It was delicious. The odd food of the night was one of the sides, called 'bubble and squeak' which is simply 'two veg's that are mashed together.' It looked a lot like mashed potatoes in my opinion...but I thought it was a funny name :) The juice, I mean squash (because squash means juice) was different tonight, black currant, and it was 'lush' (which means delicious).
Tonight I just worked on setting up the template for the programming for the five weeks of camp we will have kids. I got the template finished and hope to have the programming for the first week, Incredible Interstellar Mars Space Race, done tomorrow...wish me luck because it can be a lot of work.
We are going to finalize our plans for this weekend tomorrow, debating between Prague and Amsterdam...it will all depend on availability of tickets I guess :)
